Portland CSI has begun the hard work to take a look at how our chapter and organization can be a more supportive, inclusive community. Our new 2020-2021 Board has established a committee on justice, equity, diversity and inclusion. We are looking for ideas on how to hold joint events with NOMA, OAME, LatinoBuilt, and others. We are looking to engage more with our Portland area AEC minority business owners. We want to support our individual members who identify as BIPOC and/or LGBTQ.
We are in the early stages of crafting a mission statement but first we must listen! Join us watch a 2019 keynote presentation from Akasha Lawrence-Spence Founder & Principal Designer at Fifth Element tell her story and then have a open discussion on how Portland CSI can explore our impact on justice, equity, diversity and inclusion in our own community.
